What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small, encrypted text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit our website. They act as "memory" for the storefront, allowing us to recognize your device across multiple pages and visits.
Because Puritas is a Next.js-powered dynamic e-commerce application, cookies are fundamentally required to maintain state—such as remembering what cold-pressed oils you added to your cart while you browse other pages.
The Cookies We Use
We classify our cookies into two strict categories to give you full transparency:
Essential E-Commerce Cookies
These are strictly necessary for the Medusa backend to function. Without these, you literally cannot add items to your cart, login securely, or checkout via Razorpay. They do not track personal identifying habits and cannot be disabled if you wish to purchase from us.
User Experience (UX) Cookies
These enhance your browsing by remembering your visual preferences, such as keeping the website in Dark Mode or dismissing the newsletter popup banner so you aren't repeatedly annoyed.
Third-Party Cookies
Puritas values your privacy immensely. We actively minimize dependencies on invasive third-party tracking. We do not use aggressive cross-site advertising arrays (like invasive Meta Pixel retargeting) across this platform.
However, during the secure checkout phase, our payment provider (Razorpay) may securely drop temporary session cookies required exclusively for RBI-compliant transactional fraud detection processing.
How to Manage Cookies
You have absolute control over your browser. You can modify your browser settings to decline all cookies if you prefer.
- If you use Chrome, navigate to Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies.
- If you use Safari, navigate to Preferences > Privacy.
⚠ Warning: Disabling essential cookies means your cart contents will reset every time you navigate to a new page, making it impossible to check out.
